Brittany joined Treadwell Gordon in 2017 and works in the litigation team with a particular focus on employment, trusts and estates and civil litigation, but regularly works on a wide range of commercial disputes. She regularly appears in the Employment Relations Authority, Family Court, District Court and High Court.
Brittany is drawn to the people-focused aspects of law and enjoys helping people in what can be a stressful and difficult time of their lives.
Brittany has extensive experience in employment matters, acting both for employees and employers. She advocates pragmatic and cost-effective approaches to any employment dispute which can avoid costly litigation and reputational damage. Brittany is also available to conduct independent workplace investigations.
Brittany acts in a wide variety of estate litigation cases such as beneficiary claims and disputes, breach of trustee or attorney duties, validation of wills which have not been properly executed and applications to the High Court for directions.
Clients appreciate Brittany’s ability to take complex issues and make them simpler as well as her empathy, understanding and, when the occasion demands, robust and determined legal argument.
Outside of work, Brittany is a keen sportswoman and is currently enjoying water skiing, mountain biking (although not very well) and football (even less well). Brittany loves going to the weekend market in Whanganui with her family or taking her foster dog, Jack, to the beach.
