In one word “justice”
Julia grew up in Auckland but her roots are in Te Kauwhata where her family has farmed since 1902. After graduating from high school, Julia obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Auckland. She worked for a number of years in the publishing industry before moving to the Waikato with her daughter where she completed a Masters in Law at the University of Waikato.
Julia is a people person who is passionate about criminal justice and prison reform. She has written articles published in the Herald and Stuff.co.nz about decreasing the prison population and alternatives to imprisonment.
Julia joined Treadwell Gordon’s criminal and family litigation team in January 2019 to pursue her passion of advocating for people who have found themselves caught up in the court system.
Outside of legal practice, Julia enjoys cooking, travelling and spending time with her daughter.
